1. When we arrived at the Dream Gran Castillo Resort 5 *, we were not greeted and we had to struggle with three suitcases, three pieces of hand luggage and a child’s pushchair, which after a long journey is not acceptable. Throughout the holiday, we seen people arriving having their bags carried by a porter, to their rooms and they also received a drink on arrival, which we didn't .
2. When entering the room, on first glance appeared nice, we went to make a cup of tea, after not being offered one at reception and the kettle was broke, We phoned reception for replacement and it took two hours to arrive. Upon plugging the replacement kettle in, this too was broken, then had to wait a further hour to get the third kettle which worked. There were cups, saucers and spoons on a tray in the room but with no tea/coffee etc . Then I had to make a further phone call to reception to request these in the room as they had forgotten to put them in, in the first place. On departure, they tried to charge us 10 euros which I thought was disgusting.
3. On the second phone call to reception, I informed them that my son’s bed needed to be made up. It took 2 hours for the housekeeper to come to the room. The lady arrived, spoke in a foreign language and handed me a mobile phone. On the other end of the line was a receptionist who spoke broken English also. Basically they informed me that the bed was broke. A further 2 hours went by when a maintenance man arrived who supposedly fixed it. Then the maid arrived 30 minutes later and made the bed up. Later that night, my four year old son went to get into bed and the bed flipped up and trapped him in the middle of the bed, which had him in a fit of tears complaining of headache. He would not get into the bed again, and had to sleep with us, upset and sobbing.
