Under the Act, while at work, workers must:

take reasonable care for their own health and safety; and
f
take reasonable care that their acts or omissions do not adversely affect the
health and safety of other persons; and
f
comply, so far as the worker is reasonably able, with any reasonable
instruction that is given by the person conducting the business or
undertaking to allow the person to comply with this Act; and
f
co
-
operate with any reasonable policy or procedure of the person conducting
the business or undertaking relating to health or safety at the workplace that
has been notified to workers.
It is important to know what responsibilities you have under the Work Health
and Safety Act as there may be penalties at all levels in the case of accidents at
work. No one in the workplace should
f
interfere with, or misuse, things provided for the health, safety or welfare of
persons at work.
f
obstruct attempts to give aid or attempts to prevent a serious risk to the
health and safety of a person at work.
f
refuse a reasonable request to assist in giving aid or preventing a risk to the
health and safety of person at work.
f
disrupt a workplace by creating health or safety fears.
