Some researches are focused on PV module redesign for con- venient recycling or even component reuse, because component reuse has smaller close-loop life cycle paths than material recy- cling and generally have better environmental and economic performances, especially considering the complexity of PV module material recycling. Japan is one of most frontier countries of research on remanufacture and reuse of PV modules. Supported by the NEDO project, Sharp is the famous Japanese manufacturer, developed a PV module remanufacturing process based on repairing the EVA layers and the substrate.
