Since the aim of study was to evaluate the effects of selected
parameters on the mass loss of steel balls within grinding, scanning
electron microscopy with energy dispersive X-ray detection
(SEMeEDX) and the statistical design of experiments were
employed to investigate the mass loss products of steel balls and to
evaluate the effects of operating parameters on the wear rate,
respectively. These operating parameters were pH, solid percentage,
mill throughout, charge weight of balls, rotation speed of mill,
grinding time and steel ball type.
