Samir Nasri faces being squeezed out at Manchester City.
The Sunday Mirror says Nasri's season could be over if Manchester City land Real Madrid star Isco.
The Blues are hoping to capture the Spanish international playmaker in a potential £30million deal after being alerted to the 23-year-old's rift with boss Rafa Benitez at the Bernabeu.
And if City are successful, that would make midfielder Nasri the player most likely to miss out when Manuel Pellegrini resubmits his squad to the Premier League at the end of this month.
Clubs can name a maximum of 17 foreign players - and City already have a full quota.
Recruiting Isco would force Pellegrini into making a major decision - and Nasri is currently sidelined after surgery.
