Selected antimicrobial agent such as Sodium hypochlorite (0.5%, 1.0% and 3.0%), Formaldehyde (0.5% and 1.0%) and HISKA® were used since the antimicrobial agent showed positive results in both antimicrobial activity and GCMS analysis. As shown in Table 5, the tensile strength was not significantly affected when compared with the Standard Malaysian Rubber (SMR) as the control for physical testing. HISKA® showed higher tensile strength (23 MPa) as compared with control (13.5 MPa) whereby Sodium hypochlorite treatment reduced the tensile strength as the concentration increase. Formaldehyde treatment resulted in higher tensile stress test when the concentration increases.
