The results of Experiment 2 revealed developmental differences in memory abilities for perceptual
features for objects in relation to categorical biases. On the group level, 4-year-old children and adults
had better memory performance for shape than for color and size. The majority of participants in these
age groups also demonstrated a shape bias. We did not observe differences in memory performance
for the three features in the 2- and 3-year-old age groups. However, when these children were divided
into two groups, those in the shape bias group had significantly better memory performance for shape
than children in the no/other bias group. In sum, the results of this experiment replicate Experiment 1
and confirm the hypothesis that learners have different memory abilities for perceptual features of
objects and that the shape bias is related to differences in memory for features of objects
