The choice of this temporal structure was due to the following factors: (I) judo fights have an average duration of 3-min, with actions performed in about 10 sequences lasting around 20 s, with 10 s interval between them (Miarka et al., 2012); (II) these protocols can be executed in < 15 min, including period-of-rest intervals between sets and between blocks of exercise; (III) in each session, the total exercise time does not exceed 7-min, resulting in a small addition in the total weekly training volume
