The lung function effects related to acute (lag-1-day) and sub-chronic (2-m) levels of air pollutants were compared (Table4).
Effects of particulate matter on lung function were mainly related to sub-chronic exposure. Moreover, acute exposure to O3 was related to air way obstruction, while sub-chronic (2-m) exposure to O3 correlated with impairment in the lung capacity.
