Fish held in an iso-osmotic salinity of 15 p.p.t. displayed a significantly lower level of
liver lipid than fish held in both 35 p.p.t. and 7 p_p.t_ (Fig. 2). Hepatic hexokinase activity
was influenced by both salinity and dietary protein level. In all cases, hexokinase activity
was highest in an iso-osmotic salinity of 15 p.p.t. and higher hexokinase activity tended to predominate at lower dietary protein levels (Fig. 2). There was a trend for hepatic G6Pase
activity to be lowest in an intermediate salinity of 15 p.p.t. (Fig. 2)
