Implications for the Industry – the Red Tape Effect
The increased growth of Korea as an inbound travel market has implications for service providers such as hotels
and airlines in Korea.
Travel providers in Korea will need to accommodate this growing inbound market, for example through greater proficiency in English and more active marketing outside Korea.
But the Korean government will also need to play its role in reducing the barriers that have made Korea a difficult market for overseas companies, making Korea more appealing as a market and stimulating inbound business travel.
And continuing to reduce visa requirements will also stimulate inbound leisure travel to Korea.
