Each article was analyzed based on the following: (1) general information (journal name, publication year, authorship, and institution affiliation), (2) content of the article (research focus, social media type, research topics), (3) research tools employed (theoretical applications, research methods, samples, sampling methods, and statistical analyses), and (4) the developments of social media research. Cho and Khang’s framework was adapted as a coding guideline to fit the purpose of this study.
