Description of the Facility in Cambodia
Angkor Hospital for Children (AHC), located in Siem Reap, Cambodia, opened in February 1999 and has two goals: (a) to provide quality care to children in a warm and supportive environment and (b) to act as an official teaching hospital (designated by Cambodia's Ministry of Health) to provide clinical training for health care professionals. AHC has offered free comprehensive child health care services ever since, serving an average of 350–400 children and their families each day. Extensive education programs for Cambodian doctors, nurses, and other health professionals have always been a priority of AHC. In addition, AHC has developed a strong collaboration with the Cambodian Ministry of Health to provide clinical placements to final-year nursing students from all five nursing schools in Cambodia.
