Interconnectivity of the pores was measured from the geometrical
models obtained by computed tomography using the appropriate
algorithm. For the Cu-foam with 0.5 mm pore size and 65% porosity,
interconnectivity was estimated at 97%. When the mean pore size of
the foam decreased, keeping the porosity at 65%, the macropores
become directly connected (interconnectivity 100%), which indicates
that interconnectivity is affected by the sugar particles used to manufacture
the Cu-foams. The geometrical characteristics of the foams are
presented in Table 1.
