The ‘‘deterministic” model is generally used when the heat
exchanger geometry is known or in the case of heat exchanger sizing.
This model can also be used to identify heat transfer or frictions
factor correlations.
Fischer and Rice [11] developed a quite complete ‘‘deterministic”
model that considers the three zones and the condenser geometry.
The use of this model requires a detailed knowledge of the condenser
geometry. This kind of model allows predicting the condenser performance
almost without any experiment or catalogue data.
