Strengths in Rawls’ Theory
1 It is impartial – no-one can choose principles which favour themselves. V. of I. prevents this. No-one can complain their group has been disadvantaged.
2 The principles are binding – any rational person will accept them. So they give every rational person a reason to be moral
3 They are fair – everyone is taken into account. Supports the intuition that everyone deserves a fair go at life
