1. Introduction
The researches of intake oxygen-enriched combustion of internal
combustion engine have begun since 1960s [1], and the original
purpose was to reduce engine-out emissions. Early preliminary
experimental studies showed that oxygen-enriched intake to
improve oxygen contents of combustion chamber by maintaining
diesel injection law unchanged, which can accelerate the burning
rate, improve combustion temperature [2], and enhance thermal
efficiency to some extent [3]. Fuel in cylinder can also be burnt
more thoroughly [4]. CO, HC and PM emissions can be reduced
simultaneously because of more complete oxygen-enriched combustion
[5]. The power output can also be improved by increasing
the intake oxygen concentration and fuel mass injected per cycle
[6]. Oxygen-enriched air can be obtained by membrane separation
technology for diesel engine [5,7]. Some recent studies showed that
diesel engine fueled with oxygenated fuels to achieve oxygenenriched
combustion in cylinder [8], the content of HC, CO and
soot emissions would decrease with increasing oxygen mass fraction
in fuel [9]. Either increase oxygen content [5] by intake oxygenenrichment
or by burning oxygenated fuels [10] to achieve oxygenenriched
combustion is helpful to reduce the soot emissions,
