The economic decline of the cities in the UK, Western Europe and Northern America in the late 1970’s highlighted the role of tourism as a catalyst to boost urban economies. Therefore, tourism is suggested as a mean to manage the change and transition of city functions, and then is expanded to become the principal sector in the city economies.
