There was a non-significant difference in lactoperoxidase activity among control and the cattle administrated with oxytocin,
i.e., 7.82 and 7.85 U mL1, respectively (Table 2), while there was a significantly increased thiocyanate concentration of milk, i.e.,
5.35-5.72mg L1 in oxytocin-treated groups.
A declining trend was noticed for lactoperoxidase in both the control and treated groups (Table 1).
Fonteh, Granison, and Lewis (2005) correlated reduced lactoperoxidase activity with increasing concentration of thiocyanate.
In present study, thiocyanate contents broadly increased throughout lactation (Table 2).
