All properties will have an Emergency Response Team (ERT) assigned 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.
The ERT will consist of a minimum of three people but increases in size depending on the number of rooms:
o
< 100 rooms = 3 people
o
100-200 rooms 4 people
o
> 200 rooms – 5 people
One person in the ERT will be designated as the “Emergency Response Team Leader” (ERTL).
The person responsible for the monitoring and operation of the Fire Alarm Panel for each shift will be known as the “Fire Controller”
At the beginning of each shift, the ERTL will call a muster of his/her ERT at the Fire Control Panel location. The purpose being the verification to the “Fire Controller” that all of his/her team are present and aware of their role as an ERT member. At the muster, the ERTL will instruct the Fire Controller to send a test “Code 1 message” to all ERT members. The test message will read “Code 1: ERT Test Message”. The ERTL will annotate in the log “Test Message successful”. This will be signed by both the ERTL and the Fire Controller.
On successful muster of the ERT, the ERTL will sign a logbook maintained at the Fire Control Station recording the muster.
In the event that this muster does not occur then the Operator/Fire Control Panel Operator will immediately notify the senior Manager on duty that the ERT is not present and ready for duty.
