Rate Analyses. Table I presents the number of deaths from all cancers combined, person-years at risk, and death rates at each level of aspirin use. Table 2 shows the relative risks and 95% confidence intervals for all fatal cancers combined and for cancers of major organ systems. The risk of all fatal cancers combined was somewhat lower among persons who used aspirin than in nonusers; this difference was of borderline statistical significance except in women in the highest category of use. No dose-response trend was seen for all cancers combined.
