corroborates the short-term antihypertensive effect of CFP in
SHR. The beneficial effect of cocoa and cocoa derivatives on cardiovascular disease, and in particular in the hypertensive pathology,
has been extensively studied. Cocoa and cocoa derivatives are known as a significant source of antihypertensive flavonoids, particularly flavan-3-ols and procyanidins, and some studies have
demonstrated the endothelium dependent effect of these compounds [14,15].
