What Roles should Educational Technologists Play to Support the New Paradigm of Education? Up to this section, we described a new system of education and explained how technology can enable this new system. Additionally, we provided a number of examples of schools which demonstrate key characteristics of the new paradigm, including Minnesota New Country School. In this section, we will outline roles that educational technologists should play to support such a system of education in the information age. We will specifically point out roles of educational technologists to facilitate systemic change instead of piecemeal change and technology transformation instead of technology integration to better prepare our students for their future.
