The contamination of blood samples by intracellular
fluid, as indicated by creatine kinase
(CK) and lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) activities,
has been shown to occur by both CT (Ikeda
and Ozaki, 1981) and CVP (Gaudet et al., 1975;
Ikeda et al., 1985). In the present study, LDH
and CK activities were higher when blood was
sampled by CT than by CVP, which indicates
that the lower Hb concentrations in CT samples
were partly due to dilution by additional intracellular
fluid.
