The amorphous
nature of the glasses were confirmed through X-ray
diffraction (XRD) studies with a Philips X’Pert system, using Cu
Ka radiation (k = 1.54056 A), at 40 kV and 100 mA; the diffractometer
setting in 2h ranges from 3 to 70 and changes with a step size
of 0.02. The infrared spectra of the studied glass samples were
performed in the region of 400–1000 cm1 with a NICOLET 560
spectrometer, using KBr pellets.
