This could be attributed due to the different nature of the vegetable species that accumulate different metals depending
on their environmental conditions, metal species, plant available and forms of heavy metals. Studies (Jung, 2008; Mido and
Satake, 2003; Bingham et al., 1975) also showed that the uptake and accumulation of metals by different plant species depend on several factors such as soil pH, cation exchange capacity, soil organic content, soil texture and the interaction of soil–plant root–microbes which play important roles in regulating heavy metal movement from soil to the edible parts of vegetables
