Information about the number of days exercised in the previous week, the number of minutes exercised each day, the type of exercise engaged in each day, and the intensity of exercise was recorded at each phone call. Intensity was determined by asking the participant to determine on a 0 (no effort) to 10 (breathing hard, cannot talk while exercising) scale the intensity of each exercise session. Their partners received calls every other week to encourage exercise and track their progress.
