Identification of staphylococci was successfully accomplished
for 15 out of 20 strains by 16S rDNA method. At present, sequencing
of ribosomal RNA genes (16S rDNA) represents the standard for
species identification. This identification tool is carried out by using
standard amplification primers which bind to conserved regions.
However, due to limited variability of this gene, 16S rDNA
sequencing cannot be successfully applied in some situations for
strain identification. (Heller et al., 2012).
