Cores extracted from the boreholes were placed in galvanized steel boxes. Permanent borehole identification marking was placed on the internal and external faces of the core box lids. In sections, where a core sample was removed for the purpose of laboratory testing, a PVC or wood spacer having the same length as the sample was used to replace the sample. All core boxes were digitally photographed, stored and protected from sunlight and rain. Upon completion of the site work, all core boxes were transported to Ban Tha Bak,Kham Keut District, Bolikhamxai Province, Lao PDR where they remain to date.
