As a leading business conglomerate in the ASEAN region, SCG has carried out business in line with the sustainable development approach under good corporate governance principles for 100 years. SCG was established in 1913 following a Royal Decree of His Majesty King Rama VI to produce cement, a main building material for infrastructure construction which was vital to the nation’s development at that time. Since its founding, SCG has grown and expanded into a diversified group of operations encompassing three core business units: SCG Cement-Building Materials, SCG Chemicals and SCG Paper.
SCG has pledged its commitment to ongoing development, creating innovative products, services, processes, and business models to create value and address the needs of all concerned parties. Further, the Group is dedicated to contributing to the sustainable growth and development of every community where SCG operates.
With its demonstrated commitment to conducting business in tune with the sustainable development approach, SCG has been a member of Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI) since 1998. DJSI are the global indexes tracking the business performance of leading sustainability-driven companies worldwide.
