Fruit weight loss was significantly increased in mango from day-1 to day-9 of ripening period irrespective of the treatments. How-ever OA-treated fruit exhibited a reduced weight loss as compared to control At fully ripe stage, lowest fruit weight loss about 1.15-fold was observed in fruit treated with 5mmoI/L OA compared to control. As expected, with extension of storage period fruit weight loss was increased during storage in both OA-treated and control fruit. Excessively high fruit weight loss was recorded in control while, least mean fruit weight (3.33%) was observed in OA-treated fruit during cold storage. Among the OA treatments, lowest fruit weight loss (4.96%) was observed in 5 mmol/L OA-treated fruit, as compared to all other treatments after 28 days of cold storage.
