Normally solving the differential equations of physical problems by finite difference methods will uses a regular rectangular mesh with uniform size in the calculation. But regular mesh has limited because the boundaries of the area does not normal, the boundaries of the area calculation domain are not consistent with the physical domain. Thus causing an error in the calculation. So the active adaptive mesh will be useful in solving the problems of the physical domain. An adaptive mesh is created by divide a physical domain into a smaller grid area with multiform size. And the density of the grid can be adjusted according to each area.
This project is a study of grid generation by adaptive mesh method in the upper gulf of Thailand or in the other word is physical domain. Calculation by using the coordinate of latitude, longitude. Transformation relation from physical domain to calculation domain and calculate form adaptive mesh equation by finite difference methods. Adaptive mesh is considered about smoothness orthogonal and weight area variation. And using single step iteration for Calculate until the results were calculated into errors accepted and transformation to physical domain. The results from calculation can be display on physical domain grid
