Applicants must have previously completed one of the following: a bachelors degree with no fewer than 48 points in approved 300 level courses, with at least a B+ average at undergraduate level and/or relevant work experience; a Postgraduate Diploma in Environmental Studies with at least a B+ average; Part 1 of a Master of Environmental Studies with at least a B+ average; acceptance of a thesis proposal by the Programme Director. In some cases an equivalent qualification from another university may be acceptable and in exceptional circumstances, it may be possible to enrol in Part 2 of the masters without having undertaken the postgraduate diploma or masters Part 1. Applicants must also have obtained TOEFL score of 575 with (preferably) a TWE of 5; or 237 on the computer-based test; or 90 on the internet-based test with a minimum 20 in writing; or IELTS overall band of 6.5 with no sub-score below 6.0; or a minimum of two ratings of 5 and two ratings of 4 in the Victoria University English Proficiency Programme test or equivalent to overall CAE score of 58 or above with no less than borderline in each skill.
