The application of an integrated EC

The application of an integrated EC-ED process to out flow of tannery wastewater was found to be effective. The efficiency indegrading organic matter by the EC process was proved by theremoval of heavy metals and by significant reduction in COD. Thispretreatment makes it possible to treat the effluent so that it thendoes not clog the membranes during ED. The results showsignificant reductions in all parameters tested.
