What is evaporation?
What is a boiling point?
What are different between evaporation and boiling?
Why is a boiling point important?
In liquid state, when a liquid gains enough energy, it changes state from a liquid to gas called evaporation. Evaporation can happen at the surface of a liquid. We may observe the evaporation of water when we start to boil water.
If we continue to add more heat to the pot, the water will evaporate more quickly. Eventually, the temperature of the water reaches a boiling point. For example, the boiling point of pure water is 100 C at sea level. At the boiling point of a liquid, the particles gain enough energy to form a gas or vapor throughout the liquid. We can see the bubbles of the water vapor that escape from the liquid water when the water boiling.
