Thailand Programme Internship
Internship with IUCN Thailand Programme
Duration: 4-6 Months
IUCN is seeking a qualified internship to join our Thailand Programme Team.
BACKGROUND:
IUCN Thailand serves as Implementing Partner under the USAID-funded Mekong Adaptation and Resilience to Climate Change (Mekong ARCC) in Thailand. IUCN is working with communities to carry out activities that reduce vulnerability and build resilience to climate change, specifically as related to impacts on livelihoods and community welfare.
IUCN Thailand also has a partnership with Marriott Hotels & Resorts Thailand to work together to protect the environment and support Thailand’s local communities. The partnership targets three main areas: mangrove reforestation, the use of sustainable seafood sources, and local procurement practices for guest gifts and souvenirs.
In addition, IUCN implements the Mangroves and Markets project in Thailand, which aims to promote Ecosystems-Based Adaptation through Mangrove Restoration and Sustainable Use.
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
1. Support the Programme Officer and the Field Coordinator in compiling information, preparing documents and reports (English/Thai).
2. Compile information in Thai and translate into English.
3. Support the Programme Officer and the Field Coordinator in organizing events and activities.
4. Conduct research activities and other relevant tasks.
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s or Masters degree (or student) in environmental science, international relations, development studies, communications or related area
Experience in working in environmental projects, preparing project documents and organizing project activities would be an asset.
Excellent written and spoken English and Thai
