Q: Can I use continuous to fit discrete random variable?
A: You can although it is strange. In this case, we assume that
1. Continuous distribution is only available at integer values
2. Discrete sample set only takes the shape of distribution of continuous random variable, but not the actual meaning of continuous random variable.
Q: Can I use discrete to fit continuous random variable?
A: It is more strange since we cannot really use discrete distribution to predict real values. Nonetheless, the chi-squared test can be done.
