In this experimental study, solar dryer, which has 18 m2 base area and 3.5 m height is used for large scale drying of jasmine organic rice. This solar dryer consists of a flat plate solar air collector, a greenhouse type tunnel drying unit and an electrically driven radial fan to provide the required air flow over the product to be dried as shown in Fig. 1. The dryer was oriented in an east-west direction to make the incident solar radiation more efficient on the solar greenhouse dryer. Tunnel was covered with polyethylene plastic film material. Three drying trays, having dimensions of 2.0 m x 5.0 m, were placed in the greenhouse dryer. The trays were used to accommodate organic rice halves to be dried and have a capacity of 1 ton of rice in dry per time. For energy input use single solar array, 80 watt, 12V, mono-crystalline, solar charger and 12 volt of dry battery for produce electric to ventilating fan and air blower.
The gasifier produced hot air to greenhouse solar dryer was downdraft gasifier, continuous feed biomass, and design for charcoal and wood operation. In the work, the air input to gasifier with 100 watt air blower and adjust air with 2 inch globe valve. The biomass fill in the hopper from the top, the bottom was removing the ash. Producer gas was flowed from reduction zone and cleaning by cyclone, next the gas was burning in combustion chamber and was occurred the hot air, after that the blower was removed the hot air to greenhouse solar dryer.
