In a violent environment, divorce can result in children becoming aggressive and abusive toward their spouse because of the environment they lived in. Living through a violent divorce can lead children toward negative outlets such as drugs, and gangs. The relationship of the children with their friends and other family members may be shattered. For the adults, a permanent separation in the marriage may be the answer to an ill-fated relationship. However, for the children, the strain from the divorce can be a burden.
