An outbreak of RDC 2 in a herd takes about 9 weeks to resolve while RDC 1 outbreaks last on average 4.5 weeks (Fig. 5). RDC 1 has higher morbidity and case fatality rates among the calves (83% and 21% respectively) and young adults (71% and 15% respectively) while RDC 2 shows more morbidity and case fatality among young adults (67% and 14% respectively) and adults (56% and 9% respectively) (Table 3).
