Speaking at the Independent Schools Show, the world’s largest exhibition for British private schools, Adam Pettitt, head of Highgate School, said that pushing children in such a way ons was “an indication of the frenzy or the madness” that some parents find themselves in.
“If everyone tries to be on top of their year group, then that way madness ensues. There are a proportion of parents at any school who are bonkers and understanding what the parents are like is very important,” he said.
