In very small organizations, no HR professional may be involved in selection decisions. But when small organization grows rapidly, they often turn to HR professionals to assist with recruitment and selection processes. In large organizations, human resource professionals usually gather detailed information about applicants and arrange interviews between job applicants and line manager. they may also administer standardized tests to assess the applicants competencies and select the most qualified applicants for managers to interview. As detailed in exhibit 8.2, centralization of some aspects of selection benefits both the organization and the applicants.
