most animal cells are relatively colorless and appear transparent under the light microscope. We can thgcertain structures by attaching pigment molecules to them in a procedure called staining. In this laboratory you will use the stain methylene blue, which dyes the acidic miolecules of the nucleus blue. You will examine cells from several animal tissues in thisexercise. Be sure to note the tremendous variation in cell size, shape, and structure of the examples you observe.
