The climate chamber, with a dimension of 4.0 m (L) × 2.7 m
(W) × 2.4 m (H) and well sealed with thermal insulation materials,
is ventilated by an independent displacement ventilation (DV) system
as shown in Fig. 3. All of the air is supplied from floor level with
low velocity. It should be noted that part of the air is returned from
a grille located at middle level, while the rest of air is exhausted
from grille located at ceiling level as well as openings combined
with lighting fixture. In practice, it is recommended that grilles 8
and 9 are separately ducted to return and exhaust.
Two thermal manikins are arranged in the chamber to represent
two working people in a small office, as shown in Fig. 4. Other heat
sources include two computers, two lamps and two data loggers
