In this way, my intention is that the readings will “push” students to broaden the focus of their action research.
The potential of the readings to intervene in students’ projects might be heightened if readings were provided to individual students according to their specific topics and the development of their projects.
However, to do so may be to lessen the potential of the seminar group to collaborate over projects.
Of course, both could be done, and was in some cases. But we are taken back to the realities of the students’ lives and their reticence to accept too much reading.
