Glass and metal are sent for recycling. Solar cells are re-etched to wafers. According to PV cycle's 2007 study, the recycled wafers after having undergone solar cell processing are of equal value to the new wafers, and can be processed again in a standard solar cell production line and integrated into PV modules (see Fig. 3). The process can recover more than 84% of the input module weight with up to 6 N purity of the fractions.
