Explain what entrepreneurs do.
Entrepreneurs take on risk by developing an idea, solving a problem, or creating
a need. Entrepreneurs ultimately birth “the new.” This "birthing" can also be
applied to an existing organization. This will be brought to the marketplace
where it will ultimately succeed or fail. Once the entrepreneur brings
the idea to market, jobs can be created, needs can be met, and/or social issues
can be dealt with. Entrepreneurs operate in economic systems that create value.
Entrepreneurs have to be a “jack-of-all-trades” when they are first starting out.
They have to hire employees, do marketing and sales, accounting, look for ways
to finance their business, and anything else needed to get a business up, running,
and operating.
Entrepreneurs lead the firm or organization and demonstrates leadership qualities
by choosing who is going to work for the company. They use the leadership skills
to solve problems and to be creative.
