According to the planted area and total volume of production, potato has significant place in nutrition of world’s
population. In many countries of the world, potato presents important food product or even food basis and
significant raw material for different processing and food industry. Regardless of the length of the period when
it became cultivated crop, method of production, tradition and habits in consumption and consumption “per
capita”, today potato represents very significant cultivated plant in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Production goal of
producer is high yield of consumption potato tubers and also production of high – quality processing and edible
parts of tubers. In seed production tuber is dominant and reproductive part of potato whose production and
quality characteristics depends on numerous factors. Conducted researches represent a contribution to study of
changes of yield and selected parameters of consumption potato tubers quality in different ecological conditions
(climate and soil). This study was conducted during 2011 and 2012 with application of custom, advanced agro
technic (planting, protection from weed, disease and pests) on three early to mid-early potato varieties (Arizona,
Saviolai and Adora) and two locations (Butmir at Sarajevsko polje and Hozici at Glamoc). The potato cultivars
were grown on parcel of 15m2 size with 40 000 plants per hectare. Standard spacing between rows was 70cm in
four repetitions. During vegetation and collection, morphometric measures and observations were conducted
and experimental data were sorted and analyzed statistically (analysis of variance) separately for each factor
(variety, location and year). Between studied factors there were cleared differences in the effects on yield and
selected parameters of quality. Ecological conditions (climate conditions during year) had the most intense and
statistically significant influence on yield and insignificant influence on parameters of tubers quality. Regardless
of location and year of research between varieties there were statistically significant differences in yield and
between tested locations there were not that kind of significations.
