4.3. Determination of sensitivity
Rhyzopertha dominica appeared to produce a higher S/N than other species with the same amount of grain. A single male beetle could be detected in 1 kg of grain with average S/N of 213 for Dominicalure 1 and 139 for Dominicalure 2. Tribolure was also detected with a strong S/N of 36.5 produced by a single male beetle in 1 kg of flour but 1-pentadecene was not observed in this sample. Instead, it was collected from the samples that were infested by more than a single T. castaneum.
