– Deterministic and random signals; Deterministic: no uncertainty with
respect to its value at anytime, past, present, or future and can be
modeled as functions of time, Random: there is some degree of
uncertainly before it actually occurs
– Energy and power signals; Energy signal has zero average power and
power signal has infinity energy; periodic and random signals are
power signals, deterministic and non-periodic are energy signals
– Fourier analysis; the resolution of signals into sinusoidal components,
Fourier series and Fourier transform to get frequency-domain
(spectrum)
